Seriously, Twilight is a JOKE compared to New Moon. Whereas Twilight was awkward and low-budget and green-tinted, New Moon was smooth and suspenseful. Alessia and I got there a little late, but we managed to snag some quality (joke) seats in the front section of the theater. Of course, that meant watching Jake reveal his abs at least 10 feet closer.. so, who’s complaining? Not me ;]

This is where the spoilers start. If you haven’t seen the movie, stop reading. Seriously, don’t come crying to me when I ruin the movie for you just because you didn’t listen to me.

Last warning. If you don’t want to know what happened, close your eyes and scroll down.

Okay, if you’re still reading, then that means either you’ve already watched NM or you enjoy having movies spoiled for you. Let’s begin (:

First off, it seems like everyone got made over. Seriously, the hair cuts were so much sleeker and sophisticated. Also, the make up was less drastic. I think they made Kristen tanner so the Cullens would not have to be as pale.

Ooh and the Volturi. They were amazingly evil and played their parts perfectly. Of course, I’m still not sure how much I like Jamie Campbell Bower though. He just seemed really awkward. Dakota Fanning was insane. She portrayed Jane exactly like I imagined Jane to be. And the fight scene was intense. I thought it was kinda weird how Edward’s cheek cracked. I mean, I get the stone reference, but still. And I have a problem with one part of the fight scene. In one scene, it shows that one of the Volturi (I don’t remember which) has Alice, but since Alice can see what move they are about to make, how was she caught?

Also, didn’t it seem like the movie was a lot brighter and colorful? Twilight seemed to have a permanent tint of green, but I felt like NM was a lot more vivid and alive.

I was a little skeptical on how they were going to make “ghost Edward” not cheesy, but they really pulled it off. He was ghostly, but not in a bad Hollywood effect way. It was subtle, no weird effects. I really liked the part where Bella was in the water and the image of Edward appears, but her hand brushes away when Jacob pulls her out of the water. Speaking of special effects. Did anyone else notice the increased wattage of Edward’s shimmer? And the sound effects? It still was bad, but it was definitely an improvement from the glistening sweaty glitter they had going on in Twilight.

Now let’s not forget our favorite werewolf. Oh, Jacob Black. Man have those 40 pounds done him good. When he first took his shirt off, I actually managed to restrain myself and let all the other girls in the theater freak out and clap. The amount of moms wolf-whistling and cheering was kind of disturbing. Cougars…

I’m sure I’ve forgotten a lot of key parts in the movie, but I’m really behind in getting this out so I’m trying to make it quick. I may go back and add things later (:

Now, honestly, who is going back to see it again? … don’t lie, you are too ;]

Tonight is the night.

November 20, 2009

COUNTDOWN: 3 hours.

Seriously, I’ve been thinking about it all day. Super insane excited. And I’ve only been hearing good reviews, which is definitely a change from Twilight. HOWEVER, I’d just like to say one thing to all the girls that wore the New Moon shirt (the one with all of the cast looking especially angsty) to school:

Vomit.

In the October edition of Interview Magazine, Dennis Hopper talked with Kristen Stewart about her life, how she’s dealing with the success of the Twilight Saga and other projects she worked on.

“The sad thing is that I feel so boring because Twilight is literally how every conversation I have these days begins—whether it’s someone I’m meeting for the first time or someone I just haven’t seen in a while. The first thing I want to say to them is, “It’s insane! And, as a person, I can’t do anything!” But then I think to myself, God damn it, shut the fuck up. ” – Kristen Stewart

I really like how open she is in this interview (maybe our K-Stew is getting better at these interviews after all!) It kind of has a raw feeling to it that makes it sound a lot less superficial than previouis interviews. I have to say that K-Stew really does not hold back in this interview. Cuss words galore. So if that doesn’t bother you, definitely give the interview a look. It’s an interesting read. (:

XO, Becca.

Kanye’s an ass, yes we know. Can we get on to the real reason many of us were watching the VMA’s? The official New Moon trailer :]

>>>>

Okay. Now that you’ve watched it. OMG. Intense, intense, intense. I really loved the part where Bella is in the water and Jacob is about to pull her out and Bella’s hand dissolves the image of Edward. That was a really cool effect. I also happened to love Dakota Fanning’s acting. I think she’s got the part down really well. Ahhhh (allow me this one fangirl moment), 69 days!

Oh and for all of you who did watch the VMA’s. Can we talk about K-Stew’s hair? It actually looks really good! So let’s give Kristen a round of applause for finally doing her hair. Kudos :]

The Times Online interviewed Kristen Stewart on her career at 19 years old and her work with reknowned actors such as Jodie Foster and Sean Penn. Besides a potentially awkward comment about the bust-size of her ‘Bella’ Barbie, K-Stew managed to act surprisingly normal for once (:

“Really, people don’t recognise me often. I think I just look different in person or something. I’m also not very approachable, and maybe they’re just thinking, ‘Ooohhh, she’s scary.’ It is weird seeing all the marketing, though, and the billboards. I like burgers, but do I want to see my face all over the burger cartons? Not really.” And what if the marketeers bring out further additions to her line of Bella action figures? “The doll?” She smiles. “Well, I guess I can live with that. In fact, I’m getting used to the bigger rack.”

Pfffff, if I had a Barbie doll made of me, I wouldn’t complain about the size of the doll’s boobs… I’d be pretty ecstatic that there’s a freaking DOLL of me, just saying. I guess after you’ve kissed Rob Pattinson, nothing is as exciting anymore…

New Moon in… 73 days. Pumped? I am.

So as you know, Twilight has become the latest craze in the world of pre-adolescent teenagers… and middle-aged moms, including Alessia’s mom. Don’t get me wrong, when I first started the reading the books, I was pretty obsessed, but HarperCollins is taking the fandom to a whole new level of insanity.

Twilight-related Wuthering Heights covers are now out for your viewing pleasure (or disgust).

Alessia (soulmate! -Amir Blumenfeld) says:

“It’s ridiculous that they [HarperCollins] are taking something so classic and well-known like Wuthering Heights and trying to make it even more popular by connecting it with some ridiculous fad that has gotten out of control.”

So forget War of the Worlds, the only thing taking over the world is vampires.

XO, Becca.

Honestly, kudos to the casting agency for New Moon. I think they NAILED the Volturi looks down. They are just the right amount of creepy evil.

Oh Taylor… what a great picture to end this post on.

Now don’t get your “Team Edward” shirts all in a bunch, hear me out. Catherine Hardwicke recently revealed that R-Pattz wasn’t the only one considered for the part of dream-vamp Edward Cullen. Some of the other candidates include:

Jackson Rathbone, Ben Barnes, and Shiloh Fernandez.

Ben Barnes, where have you been all my life? Whatever casting agency, Ben can be MY Edward Cullen... or my Prince Caspian. Time to go see Narnia (or whatever the movie is called...)

JRathbone

I love Jackson Rathbone, but he plays Jasper so well I wouldn't want to see him as anyone else. He's so perfect for Jasper, it'd be criminal to change that. He's definitely gorgeous enough to be Edward... I'm not sure if "Team Edward" would agree, though, haha.

Errrr, TOOL ALERT *cough. Seriously, though. He looks like Ed from Gossip Girl. So not Edward-material.

So there you have it. The Edward Cullen runner-ups. What do you think? Was Robert the best choice or would you have rather seen one of the three ‘almosts’ play the part? Let me know! :]

XO, Becca.

A while ago, there was an open audition for the parts of Seth and Leah Clearwater for the third installment of the Twilight saga, Eclipse. For several weeks, we all stared at mirror reflections that were disappointingly NOT Native American. Our misery is over because the spots have been filled (so we can stop dreaming…)

Julia Jones will play Leah Clearwater.

Julia Jones will play Leah Clearwater.

Boo Boo Stewart will play Seth.

Boo Boo Stewart will play Seth.

I honestly think Julia Jones fits the part perfectly lookwise, she’s gorgeous! I’ve never seen her act, so we’ll have to see! As for Boo Boo, could he be any more adorable? Oh my god, like a little Taylor in the making. What are your first impressions/thoughts? Are they who you imagined would play the Clearwater siblings? Let me know ;] XO, Becca.

Thanks, FAILbook.

Has anyone else seen this ad? Really Facebook? How are Demi Lovato and Twilight related at all? Why would Twilight fans be interested in Demi Lovato? I mean, sure, both their fandoms have fans around a similar age group… but STILL. What about the closet-fan boys? Would Demi Lovato’s new CD really attract them? This makes no sense.

*By the way, I LOVE and own Demi Lovato’s new CD, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING! ;]
