Today, 62-year old Farrah Fawcett died after struggling with cancer for years. It was a day that we all knew was coming, but hoped and prayed that it didn’t. Farrah was most known for her role in Charlie’s Angels with her gorgeous blonde hair and dazzling smile. Even her son, who is currently serving time behind bars for attempting to possesion of illegal drugs, got to see his mom. His heartbreaking, “Mommy, it’s Red, your son,” surely brought tears to many eyes. While Redmond did not get to be with his mom in her last moments, she said goodbye to him in her journal. RIP Farrah Fawcett.

A death that took the world by surprise was that of the legendary Michael Jackson.

King of Pop, Michael Jackson died today of cardiac arrest in Los Angelas. He was 50. Even though he got a bit weird with reports of baby-dangling and child-assault charges, MJ will forever be remembered for his musical genius. While there are many calls for pictures and statements from the Jackson family, I say leave them the fuck alone. Good lord, the poor guy has been dead for what a couple hours and the paparazzi are already hounding his family for statements? That’s horrible! RIP Michael Jackson.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to both families as they cope with their respective losses.

Good lord, it’s only been 2 weeks? It seems like I’ve been doing this internship for my entire life. Seriously, in 2 weeks, I’m almost done watching every single video on jakeandamir.com (and that’s like hundreds of videos)

Anyhoo, so today I was supposed to do the whole microsurgery shabang by myself. I hate mice live, I hate mice dead, I hate mice with their heads cut off, I hate mice with their skin pinned down and their insides showing. Basically, I totally chickened out and ended up watching. Pahaa, I would suck as a doctor.

4 days till China :]] I’m so excited! I downloaded a bunch of songs off iTunes for my ‘travel playlist.’ There’s a lot of Kings of Leon, a little Black-Eyed Peas, some Parachute, lots of Muse, etcetc. I need to start packing though!!! I’m such a procrastinator.

Mark Williams, who plays the head of the everyone’s favorite Weasley family, talked to LA Times about his role on the set and life as Arthur Weasley.

JP: So, the movies still have the whimsy, but they’re getting a little darker it seems. How have you and your character dealt with that?

MW: Well, it was always dark … John Williams picked it up perfectly, I mean with music being 30% of the film .. I mean, you know, [Potter's] parents were killed. There’s just these great Dickensian [themes]. I’ve never said that before and I kind of wished I hadn’t — but these great big scenes that you can play on the cello, you know what I mean. As time’s gone on, I’ve just been more and more impressed about [Rowling's] sense of geography and knowing where she’s going. There’s a big map in there and I’ve never felt that any of the concerns or themes or problems have been swept under the carpet.

I always love when actors are already fans of the movie (well, book series) they are about to create. I think it just makes them more passionate about really getting their characters down. Also, I think it gives them a lot of perspective because they know what their character is likely to do and not do, how they act, etc. When you read Harry Potter, you already feel like you’re in the story, but as actors they really ARE in the story now and I think when they are really passionate about the series, it’s more fun for them and it shows through on screen.

ACT scores are in :)

June 25, 2009

A couple weeks ago, students all over America (but mainly in the good ole Midwest because everywhere else, they take the SAT…) took the ACT including yours truly. I wasn’t too worried about it because I had taken a practice test and gotten a pretty good score.

Last night, I checked my score online and I got a…

30. Yayyyy. 1 off from Bright Flight which means I’ll probably end up taking it again, but at least I have a 30 to fall back on :]

The Twilight Examiner, that is ;] On Tuesday, Peter talked about New Moon, Nurse Jackie, his hopes for Eclipse, and his hilarious Twitter victory over Rob DeFranco!

“Whenever I’ve done television (Six Feet Under, or Damages, or Nurse Jackie) we worked with different directors each episode,” Facinelli said, “so, it makes it interesting because they come in and it’s the same material, but you get a different perspective on it. And that’s how it’s been on this one too. Chris Weitz has brought his vision; Catherine Hardwicke had hers. And, now, we get to see what David Slade’s going to bring … It’s exciting.”

Exciting might just be a teeny understatement for us Twi-fans ;] Try something closer to holy-fuck-this-is-going-to-be-the-most-anticipated-movie-ever and you might get a little warmer to the real deal.

(Oh geez, I’m in fangirl mode today)
