My life as a medical intern, day six.
June 11, 2009
Well, today was definitely interesting. Horrible, cruel, nightmare-causing. But interesting, nonetheless. Basically by 11 am, I had watched 2 mice die in a gas chamber… wow, Holocaust much? Dr. Teng assured me that gas chambers were the most humane way of killing them… Yeah, sure, tell that to the twitching rodent dying in a cage.
And then after I had to witness these poor mice being gassed, Dr. Teng showed me how to “nicely” cut off their heads with scissors. Only one word can describe my afternoon of beheading mice: Ew.
I’m not sure if I want tomorrow to be anymore interesting… let’s go back to “reading” instruction manuals! Then, I’d have more time to post new blogs. Today was a lame-blog day, only 30 views. (FAIL BECCA) It’s only because I spent all my free-time today working on the New Moon and HBP pages! New Moon is done, go check it out! HBP will be up hopefully sometime this week.

New Moon cast spills on key scenes.

November 20 couldn’t be any longer away for New Moon fans dying to see their favorite vampire saga on the big screen once again (163 days!!) MTV released a special interview where the New Moon cast talked about Alice’s Porsche, Jasper’s freak-out, and Bella’s three-way date with Jacob and Mike.
“Kristen [Stewart] and Taylor [Lautner] had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn’t originally in — and I am forever indebted to them for that,” revealed Mike Welch, citing a beloved moment from Stephenie Meyer’s “New Moon” novel. “There’s a scene that’s in the book, the three-way date between Jacob and Bella and Mike, where Mike ends up getting sick, and it’s just very awkward.”

K-Stew gets inside character Bella’s head.

Metro News (Canada) has released the fourth section of their five-part article: an in-depth interview with Kristen Stewart! In this interview K-Stew talks about changes between Twilight and New Moon, working with a new director, and how fame has changed (or not changed) her life.
What was it like coming back to a different director?
As an actor, you don’t work with the same director on every film. And this, it’s a continuation. It’s the same story but it is a different movie. I love Catherine (Hardwicke). She’s a dear friend of mine, but Chris (Weitz) – it just works out.
Besides all the technical, logistical reasons, Chris is so devoted and because he’s a man, there’s a common question. How is it having a man director? Is it a huge difference? You can’t make generalizations about people like that. He’s one of the most compassionate human beings I’ve ever met. Unfalteringly compassionate. He cares way too much for the story, and you need that. So he’s perfect.
How would you describe it to someone who hasn’t read the books or seen Twilight?
Anybody who’s ever been broken up with will probably watch this movie, and their temperature will probably go up.
How do I describe this? It’s a movie about ultimate devotion being ripped from you and thinking that your entire world that you’ve established is wrong. And then trying to get it back and realizing that it’s all OK. (Laughs) And vampires, werewolves, too, so that makes it even more exciting. Robert Pattinson is just so cute. So is Taylor Lautner. That’s what I would tell someone who doesn’t know about the movie yet.

I have to say, I was really impressed with K-Stew’s interview. I’m not sure if it’s just the fact that I read it and didn’t watch her talk, but didn’t she seem significantly less awkward? Or maybe this is just the first time she’s taken an interview seriously… hmm, oh well… awkward or not, we still love her ;]
Come back tomorrow for an interview with Rob Pattinson!
