My life as a medical intern, day five.
June 10, 2009
I’m not sure if today was any better than yesterday (I’m trying to be optimistic here). Yesterday, I attempted to read instruction manuals. That was horrid, but at least I was by my computer so I could post and mess around on Facebook. Today, I had to sit through a 2-hour board meeting on muscle fiber and then I was stuck in the freezing 23 degree Celsius storage room slicing muscle fiber onto slides.
Hmmm. I’m definitely going to say today was worse, my frozen fingers and aching neck agree.
On the bright side, I did paint my nails a shocking purple ;] but I’m already starting to pick it off, it’s too shiny! I really need to go and buy that matte-style nail polish!

This is completely off the topic of Twilight or Harry Potter, but as I stated before, I’m keeping the blog mostly open for anything that I think is interesting… and this is definitely interesting.

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, apparently lost her crown on Wednesday. Prejean first came under fire for her answer to Perez Hilton’s question on gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant, however, more controversy started when racy pictures of the (now former) Miss California were published that some construed as violations of her Miss California contract. First runner-up, Tami Farrell, will assume the role and responsibilities of Miss California. So what does Carrie Prejean plan to do, now that she’s been released from her contract?
According to a source, Prejean has aspirations to write a book and pursue other opportunities, which she will be able to do now that she has been released from her duties as Miss California.
THAT should be an interesting read. Maybe we’ll get to hear even more about how gays and lesbians shouldn’t be allowed to marry… great. One thing’s for sure: Perez Hilton, who has been posting on his Twitter for Miss Cali to lose her crown from the very beginning, should be one happy ‘Tweeter.’ :]

Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent in the Twilight Saga, talks to The Miami Hurricane about almost acting in front of President Barack Obama, filming New Moon and why you’ll see his character wearing shoes from now on.
TMH: If you were a teenage girl, would you be Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Edi: I’m not a teenage girl. Too hypothetical for me. I am Team Edward. I love Taylor [Lautner], not necessarily the Jacob character. Breaking down what the series is for me, I just love the idea of Edward and Bella. The idea of this character who cannot live without this other character. It’s just very romantic, and I support that. I don’t support the puppy love, I’m-going-to-break-it-up-because-I’m-a-brat type of thing.

Ashley Greene doesn’t bite, but Alice Cullen might.
June 10, 2009

Ashley Greene, aka Alice Cullen in Twilight/New Moon, poses for Nylon Magazine. She also answers questions on her character, on Rob’s fame, and much more.
“Oh God. Poor Rob is already a Beatle. His whole life is documented. If he picks his nose, it’s all over the Internet. He’s just done for. I think he’s kinda freakin’ out, like, ‘What the fuck is going on?’”

I was really excited about this article, especially because I love Ashley Greene and Alice Cullen happens to be my favorite Twilight character. I’ve been told that I act like Alice… haha, go figure. Leave me a comment on which Twilight character you think you’re most like!

K-Stew preps for new movie with a new look.
June 10, 2009

With the shooting of New Moon over with, Kristen Stewart is beginning preparation for her new movie role as Joan Jett in The Runaways (coming 2010) by chopping off her auburn locks and dying them black. What do you think of K-Stew’s new bad girl look? Love? Hate? Leave me a comment!

Get to know the new man in charge, Chris Weitz.
June 10, 2009
Metro News has published the third installment of the five-part article on New Moon: an interview with director Chris Weitz. In this interview, Chris Weitz talks about issues such as his reaction to being offered the job as New Moon director and the difference between Twilight and New Moon.
Q. How does it feel to take over directorial duties of such a successful franchise?
A. On the one hand, it’s exciting to take over a successful franchise. On the other, it’s daunting. There are so many fans who have high expectations for this film, but it’s made easy by the fact that I inherited this amazing cast who are certainly very talented. So half of the time, I’m just overjoyed to be a part of this and the other half, I’m nervous that I’m going to be hunted down and killed by a pack of 14-year-old teenage girls in about a year’s time!
Q. What was your reaction when you were first offered the job?
A. I was surprised because it happened very suddenly, and I had a week and a half to decide whether I was gong to do it or not. Then I saw the first film, I saw the case and I thought, ‘This is going to be great, actually. Kristen, Rob and Taylor were great’ – that’s what convinced me to do it. And I read the book and I thought I saw my way of making a good version of the book. It’s really a question of whether I can do justice to the book and to please the readers. That’s my job. It’s not to run away with it and just do my version of things. It’s to be faithful to their experience of reading it.
Tomorrow, Metro News will post an interview with Kristen Stewart so keep checking back :]
